Managing the Estate

RFCA for Wales manages the whole of the Volunteer Estate within Wales, providing a complete maintenance and management service to the customers that both occupy and administer the estate properties.

We are responsible for these Reserve and Cadets Centres on behalf of the Secretary of State for Defence and within Wales there are approximately 25 Reserve Force Centres including one RNR Ship, HMS Cambria, and extensive Cadet establishments including Cadet Training Centres.

The estate ranges in style and size from listed houses to small timber buildings, from sites of tens of square metres up to sites covering acres.

The age of properties ranges from original drill halls built at the turn of the 19th century to brand new purpose built facilities.

Our service includes all essential maintenance and repair, lease negotiations and assessments, as well as health and safety compliance audits.

As an important part of our role we have also designed and project managed multi-million pound rebuilds and full refurbishments of both Reserve and Cadet locations.
