Reserve Forces
Are you the kind of person who rises to a challenge – one that sets you apart from your neighbours and workmates?
Volunteering your spare time to train with the Reserve Forces and achieving the very highest standards in order to serve on operations alongside the Regulars is as big a challenge as you can find.
More than 2,000 men and women with homes, families and jobs all over Wales make that commitment as members of The Royal Naval Reserve, the Royal Marines Reserve, the Territorial Army and the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
It’s exciting and rewarding, making them integral and essential elements of Britain's Armed Forces and since the turn of the 20th century the Reserve Forces have played a crucial role in the defence of the UK.
This reliance on the Reserve Forces continues in the 21st century where Reservists, either as individuals or formed units continue to deploy on military operations both at home and overseas as key elements to the UK’s military output.
In return they get the chance to develop new skills and long-lasting friendships, to earn extra cash tax-free and to shine in a very different environment from work and home life.
